HOW TO APPLY

The Carlson Family Foundation requires that all requests for funding be completed via our online application. All applications received by the established deadline via the Foundation's online application process will be reviewed by the Foundation. Required Attachments

In addition to completing the online application, the following, additional documents are required as part of the application:

Copy of the IRS Determination Letter certifying the organization’s current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
Copy of the organization's annual operating budget for current fiscal year.
Copy of the project or program budget (if not a general operating support request).
Copy of the organization’s most recent audit or financial statement (do not include tax returns, i.e. Form 990).
Listing of board of directors and affiliations.
A copy of the organization’s most recent annual report, if available.

These attachments may be attached via the online application or sent via postal mail if postmarked by the deadline date.

In the course of reviewing applications, the Foundation may request a site visit and/or contact an organization or individuals seeking additional information relevant to your proposal. All applicants will be notified of the Trustees' decisions following a board meeting.

Application Deadlines

The Trustees currently meet three times each year - April, July and October. Proposals must be received by January 1, April 1, or July 1, to meet the deadlines for the respective meetings.

Because of the high volume of funding requests received, the Foundation must often decline to support proposals of obvious merit which are either outside the Foundation’s guidelines or beyond its resources.
